So a little company with an inconsequential social media website (Facebook) builds their own client-side JavaScript framework (React.js) and releases it to the public. What ensues is the biggest upheaval of the JavaScript world since... jQuery? VBScript died? Microsoft finally stopped supporting IE6?

This month, we'll drink from the firehose that is modern web applications development with React.js. We'll gloss over build systems like Grunt and Browserfiy. We'll dive into component-based architecture and "unidirectional data flow", evangelizing why it's how you should be doing things. We'll decipher JSX (the JavaScript flavor used for React.js) and build everyone's favorite client-side application: TodoMVC.

About the Presenter:
Damon Toal-Rossi is a JS software engineer for Uber, where he works on web applications using Node.js, Backbone.js and more recently React.js. When he's not doing that, he's doing something random like playing banjo, playing rugby, riding a bike, climbing, flying a plane, or... you get the picture.
